Catching Up with Creative Corvid

I love catching up with my bestie, Aubrey of Creative Corvid Design it's always such a blast. She's one amazing knitter and I love sharing her talents with all of you.

Enjoy,

Misty

Misty: If you could have any super power, what would it be? Aubrey: Shapeshifting

Misty: You can only keep one item from your art box, what would it be?

Aubrey: My favorite paint brush

Misty: What is your favorite place in the world and why?

Aubrey: Family farm. It's beautiful and peaceful.

Misty: If you and I were to trade places for a day, what is the one thing I absolutely need to know?

Aubrey: How to make coffee in a French press.

Misty: If you only had 24 hours left to live, how would you spend it?

Aubrey: With family on the farm.

Misty: Is the creative life lonely? If yes, what do you do to counteract it?

Aubrey: No, I like my alone time.

Misty: What do you love most about the art/creative world? Aubrey: Infinite perspectives.

Misty: Do you think creativity requires putting in your heart and soul?

Aubrey: Yes. If you don't love what you do what's the point?

Misty: What is creativity to you?

Aubrey: Freedom of expression.

Misty: What is your ultimate dream project?

Aubrey: The knit shawl that looks like bird wings.

Misty: What kind of rituals/procedures/tasks do you do to get into your creative zone?

Aubrey: Music and a couple of beers.

Misty: Do you ever create hidden messages/meanings in your work?

Aubrey: All the time

Misty: If your work was edible what would it taste like?

Aubrey: Like a wild blackberry

Misty: If you could change one aspect of society through your work, what would it be? Aubrey: The overconsumption of disposable goods.

Misty: What's new for Creative Corvid?

Aubrey: I'm slowly adding curiosities and natural supplies to the shop.

Misty: What kind of projects are you currently working on? Aubrey: Trying to finish up a custom order and make some scarves for the cold seasons ahead.

Misty: Last time we spoke you mentioned you were "plotting your escape" from the city/retail. Can you tell me more about that?

Aubrey: We're going to sell our house and find a remote place to live and build a small house where we can be self-sufficient.

Misty: How's the escape plan coming?

Aubrey: It's taking longer than expected, but it's going to happen eventually.

Misty: I've been following your home renovations, they are amazing! Have you found the renovations to be creatively inspiring?

Aubrey: Some of the design aspects have been fun, but I wouldn't call it inspiring.
