Man, the last few weeks at work have been monsters! By the time I make it home all I want to do is crawl straight into bed, though it's rarely what actually happens.
Last night while watching a webinar I was intrigued by several things the host mentioned and felt compelled to write. He mentioned how the world is changing and how people no longer feel compelled to slave away day after day at a job they hate for a life they don't even get to live.
He mentioned the countless generations that have "wasted" their lives MAKING a living by doing what they were conditioned to do because society, government and countless other previous generations said that's what they had to do. You know the standard doctor/ lawyer/teacher jobs that pay the bills but aren't the dream jobs.
We've all witnessed our parents, grandparents, relatives or friends chug along day after day to what: never have a savings account, barely make the rent, live paycheck to paycheck, have no way to retire, waste away to nothing with nothing to show for it?
So many people are overworked, underpaid and unsatisfied in a rat race to make more money just to survive with no life to even show for it.
How awful is that!
This quote was used as an example and I LOVE it! Why because it's 100% true!
Most of society is so grateful to even get a job at this point that they forget there are other options/opportunities out there. The biggest opportunity of them all you might ask: investing in yourself. If you're going to slave away for someone else day in and day out why not do it for yourself?
You have dreams! I have dreams! We all have BIG DREAMS! So why on earth do we give up on them and enslave ourselves to a life of less? It's essentially spiritual suicide and our dreams are dying right along with us.
What are your dreams?
Maybe you just want to be able to retire (how many people can truly do that now-a-days?) or maybe you want to travel the world, start a new career, become an entrepreneur, work from home, quit your job, move across the world, etc. The possibilities are endless and now is the time.
I don't want to sound melodramatic or anything but NO ONE is guaranteed a tomorrow, NO ONE! The entire world could come to an end tomorrow! Would you die happy and at peace or full of sorrow and regret?
So stop making excuses, change your environment and find a way. Invest in yourself. Believe in yourself. Free yourself and live your dreams.
'til next time,
Misty
