Joys of Living

If my marriage and subsequent divorce taught me anything it's that life must be lived and enjoyed each and everyday. We can't spend our lives waiting (for Mr. Right, for more money or time, for the perfect moment or for finally being ready), those things may never come and waiting for them gets you nowhere.

We are each responsible for taking that next step every single day and for making our lives exactly what we want them to be. Whether that's successful, happy, healthy or just well lived we have to make the journey and put in our very best efforts for what we want. Our lives are in no one's hands but our own.

Life is too short to live in fear or to sit around waiting for something to magically happen (or change). Life, my dear friends, doesn't work that way. I spent about 7 of my 12 year marriage waiting. Waiting for our relationship to get better, praying we could change things and be "in love again", waiting to travel the world, waiting to have a life, friends and family that actually loved me for me, waiting to find myself and what makes me happy.

Waiting, waiting, waiting! It seemed never ending until one day my sign came and I realized I was the one who needed to change. That I was the only one who could step out of the endless waiting and take control of my own life.

Now I'm eager to report that, though life is never perfect and I'm not where I want to be yet, I am happy. I'm living my life and doing the things that make it "successful" to me.

The guilt, pressure, stress and endless nights of crying have ended. My creative pursuits have lead me through brand new doors, my friends and family have mended my heart and my soul has found it's wings through my travels.

The magic in the world is seeing it with appreciative eyes, enjoying it with an open heart and loving it with endless gratitude. I pray that each of you lives a life of happiness and that you're actively seeking your passions and joy each and everyday.

'Til next time,

Misty
